Privacy Policy

BowlNote is an OfficeDoge app for tracking your pet’s feeding, weight, and daily care. This policy explains how BowlNote handles your information, including Google account data when you choose an available cloud feature.
You can use BowlNote locally without an account, or choose Google sign-in and cloud storage. The cloud-related sections below apply when you use those optional features.
Information we process
Your journal can include your pet’s profile, feeding plans, weight records, observations, and notes you enter or import. Please avoid entering sensitive personal information about yourself or other people in free-text fields.
Local and cloud storage
Without signing in, your journal stays in your browser on your device. If you choose Google sign-in, BowlNote uses your Google account identifier, email address, and profile name to provide account-specific storage. If you choose cloud storage, your journal is stored using Google Firebase. Signing in does not automatically upload your existing local journal; you choose how to reconcile local and cloud data.
How information is used
We use account and journal information to provide authentication, storage, and synchronisation. We do not sell your personal information. BowlNote does not request access to your Gmail messages, Google Drive files, or contacts.
Google account identifiers associate your cloud journal with your account; your name and email help identify the account you are using. BowlNote does not receive your Google password. Local-only use does not require you to share Google account information.
Service providers
Google Firebase provides authentication and cloud storage. Our Firestore database is located in Melbourne, Australia; this does not mean all authentication or service-provider processing occurs in Australia. Google handles information as described in its Privacy Policy. Hosting and infrastructure providers may process technical request information, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect the service.
Cloudflare hosts the public website and provides delivery and security services. Google processes account and cloud-journal information to provide the Firebase features you choose. We do not make your journal publicly accessible. If you contact support, we also process your email address and the information you send to respond to your request.
Data protection
The public website and Firebase connections use HTTPS to protect information in transit. Cloud access is controlled using authentication and account-specific database permissions. These controls do not guarantee absolute security. Local browser data is accessible to people who can use your device or browser profile; use a trusted device and protect access to it.
Retention
Local journal data remains in browser storage until it is removed or replaced, including when you clear site data or your browser removes it. JSON exports remain wherever you save them and are under your control.
Cloud journal data and earlier revisions are not currently subject to a scheduled automatic deletion period. They may remain after you stop using the app or remove an entry. Signing out or revoking Google sign-in access does not erase information already stored in Firebase.
Your data and choices
You can use BowlNote without signing in and export your journal as a JSON file. Clearing browser storage removes local data, not cloud data. Signing out does not delete your cloud journal. Cloud storage can retain earlier journal revisions, so removing an individual entry is not a guarantee that every previous copy is erased.
Self-service account and cloud-data deletion is not yet available. To request deletion, email [email protected], preferably from the Google email address used for BowlNote, and ask to delete your BowlNote account and cloud data. We will verify that you are authorised to make the request before deleting the associated authentication account and cloud journal, including stored earlier journal revisions. We will contact you if further information is needed and confirm when the request has been completed.
This does not delete your Google account, journal data stored in your browser, or JSON files you have exported. Remove those local copies yourself if you no longer want them. Do not send passwords, verification codes, or a journal export to prove account ownership. We will update this policy when self-service deletion becomes available.
